UPDATE 2008

This year has seen a rise in the number of live shows by Jymalot Music. There was the gig in LeCompte, where a small, but enthusiastic gathering got mellow to an hour-long performance of ten previously unrecorded songs by the band, performed in a smoke-filled loft "high" above the brackish marsh of South Louisiana.

"It was fun getting a positive reaction from the crowd. Nobody much had heard those songs before, but fans seemed to like them," said Jym, adding, "Of course, all the songs sound better to people when they're loaded."

Other gigs up and down the Amite produced fan comments like, "Who knew?" and "Cool" and "Oh, Jym, I love you, you are so talented."

Jymalot Music remains committed to studio work, but there is a growing feeling within the band that more live shows might be fun. We'll let you know.

Stoned fans share a hug with band-member Jym.  Far out!

UPDATE 2004

Well, Jymalot Music really never heard much out of Europe. No groundswell. Nope, no phone calls, not an email, nothing. Except for France. France wanted the band to tour. The money was tempting, but, come on, it was FRANCE! Screw France and its United Nations vote. And, really, as far as the money, Jymalot Music ain't Metallica.

So, since Europe isn't interested and France is, well, France, Jymalot Music made a (face-saving) decision to concentrate on studio work and forget about touring. Of course, if you're interested in having Jymalot Music play live for you, just email us at Jymalot Music, and we'll work something out. Unless you're France.

UPDATE 2005

Recently, Jymalot Music performed an impromptu concert, much like The Beatles atop Apple Studios, from his balcony overlooking his backyard. Within minutes after beginning the show, a sea of fans gathered in Jym's backyard. Jymalot Music performed a cover of The Beatles "I Will" and then another new tune, "Robin's Nest." The crowd had not heard Jymalot Music perform these tunes before and began to chant for the band's hit single, The Company I Keep," which was played perfectly and with feeling by Jym on his steel string acoustic. After those three songs, the concert ended as abruptly as it began, and the crowd, after bellowing for an unfulfilled encore, left the area. Jym's yard was all rutted up and he was a little bit upset about that.
